Jo Lorenz is a writer, community organizer and communications professional.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning three continents, Jo is the co-founder of the political and sociopolitical social platform, The Progressivists, which speaks directly to more than a million people online via Substack and socials.

Her career includes two decades working with several international organizations, contributing to respected global publications, and then collaborating with high-profile U.S. politicians and their teams, including Vermont Senators Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch. She has also worked with non-profit organizations such as Sierra Club and The Lonely Whale, and most recently served as a key organizer for the abolitionist movement Here4TheKids in 2023.

A Climate Reality Leader, Jo attended Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore's Climate Reality Training Corps in 2019.

Throughout her career, Jo has remained unwavering in her conviction that institutional objectives only hold value when they center collective liberation — a standard rarely met by today's establishments.
